One of those roses born from the pandemic was Maria Becerra’s Lubellas Patisserie in East Dallas. Becerra and her husband Ismael Gonzalez were unemployed because of the pandemic. This led them to open Lubellas, which has since established itself as one of the city’s top bakeries. At Lubellas, you’ll find a wonderland of world-class baked goods (and stellar lunch options), from melt-in-your-mouth croissants and cinnamon rolls to the best damn Danishes ever.
