There’s a good chance Jimmy Kimmel is holed up in a hotel room this morning with high sodium and cholesterol levels, and an old-fashioned case of the meat sweats. There’s an even better chance that a few Austin barbecue joints will be featured on his show sometime this March.

The late night talk show host was spotted in and around Austin this weekend, plowing his way through some of the city’s most notable barbecue restaurants. BBQ Snob Daniel Vaughn caught him in this tweet; D Magazine’s Carol Shih caught him in person.

Kimmel was in Austin filming for an upcoming segment that will air during SXSW next month, according to Shih. He dropped in on Franklin first, then stopped by Micklethwait Craft Meats and John Mueller Meat Co. before wrapping up his meatventure at John Lewis’ La Barbecue — all this in a longhorn-adorned convertible with his sidekick Guillermo.

SXSW runs from March 3-15 so you may have to watch a lot of Jimmy Kimmel to catch the segment, but it just may be worth it for the chance to hear Guillermo pronounce Mueller and Micklethwait with a little barbecue sauce on his chin.
