Boxcar Valentine’s Day

Dallas’ Train-Inspired Speakeasy Sets the Scene for Romance This February
— This February, Boxcar, the boutique train-car-themed bar on Greenville Avenue, has transformed into a romantic Valentine’s escape that invites guests to step aboard for an intimate, immersive experience unlike anywhere else in Dallas.

Known for its design that makes guests feel as though they’ve boarded a luxury vintage railcar, Boxcar has taken that illusion even further with a Valentine’s transformation that blends romance, warmth, and transportive ambiance from the moment guests arrive.

The interior of the bar glows with soft red and pink lighting, casting a romantic hue that sets the tone before guests even walk through the doors. Inside, the intimate 996-square-foot space feels like a train car at sunset. On Boxcar’s signature “window” screens, the Tokyo skyline at dusk rolls by, creating the sensation of looking out onto a passing cityscape from a moving railcar. Each screen is framed by rich gold velvet curtains, elegantly tied back with red and pink velvet bows, enhancing the illusion of gazing out a train window at twilight.

Boxcar’s iconic red velvet banquette seating is accented with plush love-themed pillows throughout the space, inviting guests to settle in, cozy up, and stay awhile. The result is an atmosphere that feels both romantic and whimsical, ideal for Valentine’s dates, Galentine’s gatherings, or anyone looking for the coziest bar in town to escape the winter chill.

Behind the bar, co-owners and mixologists Allen “Scotty” Scott and Carlos Angel have created a special lineup of Valentine’s-themed cocktails designed to match the mood of the space.

Featured creations include:

Brief Encounter - Los Vecinos mezcal, lime, pineapple, basil, bonal, and frothy egg white combine for a cocktail that is bright, aromatic, and intriguingly smooth.

Lover’s Station - Raspberry infused gin, St. Germain, lemon, orange cordial, and frothy egg white create a beautifully balanced drink that guests are already calling “the best drink ever.”

Couple’s Delight – Lunazul tequila, guava, lime, herbal liqueur for a smooth and vibrant cocktail that is lightly tropical.

“It’s hard not to feel romantic in a room full of velvet, soft lighting, and a sunset rolling by the windows,” said Scotty. “We wanted this to feel like the best date night in Dallas without anyone needing a reservation for a fancy restaurant.”

Boxcar also offers happy hour during the first three hours of every day it is open, giving guests an opportunity to enjoy Boxcar’s craft cocktails at a special value.

Since celebrating its one-year anniversary in October 2025, Boxcar has become a standout on Greenville Avenue for its immersive design, elevated cocktails, and warm hospitality. Owned by Jordan Carson, Patrick Gorman, Carlos Angel, and Allen Scott “Scotty” the bar also features a culinary program led by James Beard Award–nominated chef Eric Freidline, who is a partner with Carson and Gorman at Dudley’s Sports Bar in Dallas. Guests can enjoy shareable favorites like the French Dip and Parmesan Truffle Tater Tots, served on antique china to complete the train-car experience.

This Valentine’s transformation will be in place throughout the month of February, offering guests plenty of time to step aboard for a romantic ride.

And as this journey comes to an end, Boxcar is already preparing for its next destination. In March, guests may notice hints of candlelight, curious comforts, and a touch of magic filling the air, a theme that promises to transport visitors into a world that feels delightfully familiar, yet wonderfully unexpected.
