If you’re a fan of Taverna Pizzeria in Uptown, you’ll have to walk a few blocks north of their current location to enjoy their pizzas, salads and really big pork chops crowned with a fried egg. The Lombardi group just announced the restaurant would be moving to Knox Street, right next to Toulouse.

The popular French bistro, located right off the Katy Trail is also part of the same restaurant group, turning Knox Avenue into a bit of a Lombardi Lane. The move should be completed in March, according to the news release.
Meanwhile, La Fiorentina, the Tuscan steakhouse located just around the corner on Cole Avenue, is flirting with homelessness. The lease on the space expires in early 2013, and starting in January is effectively closing.
The restaurant will be available only for special events and private parties until a new site is selected.
