A cross-section of Northwest Highway and Preston Road is going to be lit aflame with the opening of Casa Brasa, a new Latin food restaurant from chef Omar Flores and Big Dill Hospitality.
If you’re not up to speed, Big Dill Hospitality is the Dallas-based restaurant group behind Even Coast, Muchacho Tex-Mex, Whistle Britches and soon-to-open Maroma. Chef Omar Flores has been a cornerstone chef in Dallas for over a decade. He’s been nominated by the James Beard Foundation for Best Chef Southwest numerous times, and on the most recent season of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dive’s, Whistle Britches was one of seven restaurants that Guy Fieri visited.
Brasa, the Spanish word for ember, is the focal point of the restaurant’s ethos. “Casa Brasa was born from fire; not just in the kitchen, but in its spirit. Every curve, every texture, every material was chosen to radiate warmth and evoke connection. It’s a space that invites people to gather, to feel, and to celebrate,” says Alec Marshi, CEO and co-founder of Big Dill Hospitality.
Proudly international, Casa Brasa will feature menus inspired by chef Flores and the Marshi family’s extensive travels through Mexico, South America, Dubai, Europe, Miami and New York, where they studied and perfected live-fire techniques to bring to Dallas.
Prime cuts of beef and pristine seafood are both at the forefront of the menu, but you can expect to see South America’s soulful parillas, Mexico’s vibrant markets and the precision of Japanese fish culture interpreted into a layered dining experience described as a celebration of contrasts.

We can expect a full variety of starters, soups and salads, house tacos, a variety of sushi and main courses from land and sea.
In a release, the filets, Sakura pork “Secreto,” Delmonico prime ribeye, Lumina Farms Double-Cut Lamb Chops, butterflied branzino “Divorciado, and a Black Hawk Farms ribeye “Tomahawk” were called out specifically. They are all cooked over white oak charcoal and mesquite wood and served with your choice of house sauces.
Chilled oysters, red snapper ceviche, and Hokkaido scallop aquachile are more items to be excited about. We’ll be getting our paws on the scallop aguachile ASAP. The sushi offerings seem promising based on their house roll alone: snow crab, grilled jalapeño and asparagus, smoked daikon, and chili mayo are topped with Wagyu beef, crispy leeks, and roasted piña salsa.
Casa Brasa will open at 8111 Preston Road (across from the Preston Center) on Monday, Oct. 27, for both lunch and dinner. Reservations are live on Resy.
