Reader support matters more than ever
We're in the final stretch of our summer campaign. Our goal is to raise $12,500 by August 9 to support the journalism our community relies on. Reader support is helping shape the future of local news.
Thirty years ago, DFW Restaurant Week began as a week of celebrating the restaurants and chefs across North Texas, and now it’s grown into the region’s largest culinary event, one that Dallasites look forward to each year to return to their favorite eateries, try new ones and support a good cause in the process.
DFW Restaurant Week is returning this year from Monday, August 10, to Sunday, August 16, but there are some special dates and extensions to note. The official event runs during the main week in mid-August, but many restaurants choose to extend their special menus to Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 7, to give diners more time to dine.
- Preview weekend: Thursday, Aug. 6 – Sunday, Aug. 9
- Main week: Monday, Aug. 10 – Sunday, Aug. 16
- Week 2 extension: Monday, Aug. 17 – Sunday, Aug. 23
- Week 3 extension: Monday, Aug. 24 – Sunday, Aug. 30
- Week 4 extension: Monday, Aug. 31 – Monday, Sept. 7
Starting next week, over 160 local restaurants across Dallas, Tarrant, Collin and Denton counties will start serving exclusive prix fixe menus benefiting the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) and Lena Pope. Participating restaurants donate about 20% of the price of each meal to either NTFB in the Dallas area or Lena Pope in Tarrant County.

- Lunch: Two courses for $29 ($6 donated)

Navigating the finer details
The itinerary planner on the DFW Restaurant Week website allows you to filter restaurants by city, county, cuisine, what they’re offering and which week they’re participating in. There’s even a map presented by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. We recommend making reservations in advance using OpenTable or by contacting the restaurants directly.
Every brunch, lunch or dinner served gives a portion back to the community via donations to the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope. The North Texas Food Bank is a leading nonprofit in the area that fights hunger and provides children, seniors and families with access to nutritious food.
“For every dollar raised through participating restaurants, we can provide three meals—ensuring children, families and older adults across our community have nourishing food,” said Trisha Cunningham, President and CEO of North Texas Food Bank, “We are deeply grateful to the chefs, restaurants and diners who are turning a meal out into meaningful impact for the 1 in 6 North Texans facing hunger.”
Lena Pope is a charity that focuses on prevention and early intervention services that support child development and improve behavioral and mental health. The organization uses nationally accredited programs and has received regular accolades for the work they’ve done in Tarrant County.
