In today’s highly saturated beer market, many breweries release seasonals to
differentiate themselves, increase their exposure, or maybe because they’re
already bored of their two-year-old standard. Either way, here’s a list of five
seasonals to look for in Dallas-Fort Worth this Fall.
Lakewood Brewing Co.
—
Rahr & Sons — Angry Goat Weizenbock
Deep Ellum Brewing Co. — Gourdzilla
This
one won’t be out until late October, but it’s worth the wait. Last fall saw the
debut of Gourdzilla, an English brown ale brewed with smoked pumpkins, sweet
potatoes, maple syrup, and spices. My only knock on Gourdzilla is that its ABV
seems high — after a Thanksgiving feast, 7.5 ABV is going to be a dagger on my
senses and put me down for a nap. A tasty, tryptophan-and-booze induced nap.
