I just picked up a special order I made from Pecan Lodge: a meat basket. It’s an idea I had a while ago when I was trying to think of something to get a guy friend who’s been sick. Didn’t want to get him flowers. And bacon roses seemed so 2011.

We needed a Meat Basket.

When I asked Pecan Lodge if they’d help me out, they delivered and then some. “Can we add beer to it?” they asked. Yes. Yes you absolutely can.

“I never knew I would enjoy working with meat so much, but I do!” Diane said as she was assembling the meatscape.

Alice Laussade writes about food, kids, music, and anything else she finds to be completely ridiculous.
