Who knew that marrying someone with the last name Blizzard could lead to a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration with Dairy Queen? For Olivia Morris, that is exactly the case.
Bradley Blizzard popped the question on July 3, 2023, and immediately after began planning the wedding. Morris even posted a TikTok addressed to Dairy Queen Texas with a “wedding idea” she had after announcing her wedding date for May 2025.
“His last name is Blizzard, so I need Dairy Queen to see this video and sponsor a Dairy Queen Blizzard bar because it just makes sense; what a fun last name, so Dairy Queen, help a girl out, please,” Morris says in the TikTok video.
Two months later, the Texas Dairy Queen Operator Council (TDQOC) noticed her video and commented that they had a “little something up their sleeve” and for her to direct message them. It soon became a partnership, and the TDQOC is excited to make Mr. and Mrs. Blizzard’s wedding all the more meaningful.
“From the moment we saw Olivia’s TikTok, we knew we had to say ‘I do’ to this sweet idea,” said Lou Romanus, CEO of the TDQOC. “It’s not every day you meet a couple whose last name is Blizzard. We’re thrilled to help make their journey to the altar as joyful and memorable as possible.”
So far, this collaboration has led to a fun engagement photoshoot at a Dairy Queen restaurant in Texas, as well as personalized merchandise, gift cards and a custom “Mrs. Blizzard” jacket for the bachelor and bachelorette parties.
Morris and Blizzard are excited for what else is in store with the collaboration as their wedding month approaches in May. TDQOC is truly turning these lifelong DQ fans’ sweet dreams into reality.
While some look at astrology for signs of wedded bliss, Dairy Queen notes that both are lifelong fans of Blizzards; her favorite flavor is Oreo Cookie and his is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. That tracks.
“As avid fans of sweet treats – especially the Blizzard Treat – this partnership comes at a special time in our lives and has been such a dream,” Morris says. “We are incredibly grateful for the love and creativity the Texas Dairy Queen Operators’ Council has poured into making our wedding season unforgettable.”
