The Adolphus is nearing the end of its two-year renovation, and April 18, the downtown hotel is opening its latest new concept: Otto’s Coffee & Fine Foods, a “Viennese-inspired café” in partnership with Oak Cliff Coffee Roasters that “will present a unique-to-market concept for European-inspired coffee and fine foods,” according to a release.

“Named after Otto Schubert, the charismatic general manager of The Adolphus from 1928 to 1946, Otto’s will feature an old-world coffee experience in a handsome and inviting space where guests and locals alike can stop in for breakfast, grab a quick lunch or linger over a leisurely coffee,” according to the release. The concept is said to fit into the Adolphus’ “deeply rooted European heritage.”

The cafe will serve Oak Cliff Coffee and a breakfast menu – housemade bagels, pain au chocolat, breakfast sandwiches and the like – and will sell grab-and-go European-style baguette sandwiches and salads all day. The shop will also have a walk-up window serving traditional Belgian Liège waffles and coffee.

“With the scent of waffles emanating out of the hotel, the ‘waffle window’ will offer its own iteration of the European-style handheld favorite featuring powdered sugar and house made fruit compote,” according to the release.
