It almost feels arrogant of them to also have one of the best bars in the city. And, yet, here we are. Every Friday from […]
Lying out of sight, The Branca Room is a speakeasy of sorts behind Chimichurri Bistro in the heart of the Bishop Arts District. To find it, slip down the alley just west of Eno’s and look for the red light hanging above the unmarked door. It’s self-described as a ceremonious atmosphere honoring the Argentine culture […]

Buffalo Wild Wings was founded in 1982 when a guy from Buffalo, New York, traveled to Ohio to judge an amateur figure skating competition and failed to find any wings that measured up to the ones at home. Now B-Dubs, as the chain likes to call itself, has spread to nearly every state, with more […]
The Cubano sandwich at the little Oak Cliff hut is fantastic. The roast pork is shredded to strings and fatty and juicy. The ham is sliced thick, the cheese is melty and those pickles tag-team the taste buds with a healthy dose of mustard for a much needed punch of acid. Despite it’s Caribbean flavor, […]
The longstanding Hardeman’s is now owned by Cory Toney, though he kept the old brick pit, the hickory wood and several veteran staffers. When ex-NFL players open restaurants and bars, it’s usually safe to expect a somewhat dumbed-down concept. But that wasn’t the case in early 2011 when former Green Bay Packers linebacker Brian Williams opened The Cedars Social, a warm, ’70s-inspired cocktail den across from the South Side Lofts. The upscale restaurant features a full-service kitchen, but […]
One of the newest additions to Oak Cliff already feels like it’s been around for years. Ceviche Oyster Bar, which owner Raul Reyes installed in a former mechanic’s garage after years of renovation, is a laid-back spot for fried seafood baskets, po’boys, fried okra and tostadas. Even the healthy options, such as fresh trout with […]
