On Premise delivers what can only be described as a unique dining experience to its Deep Ellum customers. Metal gears and the dim glow of antique light fixtures loosely evoke a set for a steampunk film, with high-back chairs and Victorian couches adding to the theme. This is the backdrop for cliché dance music, but thankfully, the tunes come with a side of good eats. Don’t miss the wok-fried cashews or anything on the menu with an Asian influence. Chef Ann Marie Romero previously cooked at Thai restaurant Pakpao, and the influence is obvious. Dishes from the Middle East are comparatively weak, but the menu has enough good food to keep your evening interesting. The kitchen also stays open to 1:30 a.m.
