2BYG, a quartet consisting of Matt Brown, Tourè, Nixx and KD, is an R&B group that’s up next out of Dallas-Fort Worth.

2BYG stands for “to be young and gifted.” They’ve amassed a huge following on TikTok with over one million followers through a series of covers and posts. The Fort Worth-based group creates feel-good music inspired by pure R&B and soul, spreading positive messages through their songs.
On The Yearbook, out now via Waystar Records/Def Jam Recordings, 2BYG are in perfect harmony, exchanging gentle lyrics about love and being stuck on someone. This is R&B before toxic R&B was a thing, filled with songs on staying up on the phone for hours (“Anything”) and being at a loss for words over someone’s beauty (“Speechless”).

If you’re into classic R&B from the likes of the late D’Angelo, Blackstreet and Boyz II Men, 2BYG evokes those same feelings. But don’t get twisted. These guys have limitless potential in taking the genre forward, as seen in songs like “Karma.” Everyone likes a spiteful anthem and “Karma” wishes “what goes around comes around” to a begrudging ex.
On “Twin,” a term of endearment to describe a best friend or someone with a similar vibe, is about to soundtrack all the bestie content on TikTok and Instagram. “Wassup” brings back memories of the 2000s when Houston’s “I Like That” was all over 106 & Park.
2BYG is for all generations, the Uncs that like their ‘90s R&B, the millennials and the youngins who want to do crazy things for love. We caught a glimpse of their star power during the Tacos and Beats Festival, where they put together a fun show featuring synchronized dance moves.
