35 Denton Announces First Round of Acts for 2012 Fest; Bun B and Mountain Goats Top List

Well, we knew that this year was going to bring on some changes to the festival now known as 35 Denton. And, after the name change was announced back in July, we're now starting to see some.

Today, 35 Denton announced its first round of performers -- a total that comes to 17 and features such names as Bun B, Mountain Goats, Thee Oh Sees, Juliana Barwick and others -- a full month earlier than the first announces came last year.

Comparatively, this year's announces and last year's are fairly similar. There are, of course, some big names mixed in once again -- the aforementioned ones for 2012 compare nicely with 2011's early-announced offerings of Mavis Staples, Japanther, Royal Bangs and Damien Jurado -- and some interesting smaller ones, too, such as Psychedelic Horseshit and Sun Araw.

For sure, it's a nice start for the growing festival. After the jump, check out the full announced-so-far list of performers for the festival, which will this year take place March 8 through 11, throughout the city of Denton.
