Fun fact about last night's Guided by Voices show at the Palladium Showroom: Not only was it the tour kick-off for that classic lineup, but it's also the last time we'll ever see a show in the Showroom.

Well, under that name, at least.

Effective immediately, the room will now be known as the South Side Music Hall (see new logo to the right), in a direct effort to avoid confusion between fans not sure about the differences between the Palladium Showroom and the much-larger Ballroom, whose name will remain unchanged.

We can't tell you how many people we heard talking about the supposed differences between the rooms at last night's show--"Wait, what room are we in right now?"--and, in those people's defense, yes, it was getting pretty obnoxious. Especially since, not too long ago, before the room was called the Showroom, it was just known as Gilley's.

Seriously: We're getting tired-head just thinking about it.

But hopefully these new developments will clear things up. Except--wait--the overall Palladium Complex (which I guess is also known as Gilley's Dallas?) is now bringing back the Gilley's name and applying it to another room, the one where the restaurant is? Well, crap.

Let's just let the press release explain it. Check it out after the jump.

ANNOUNCING THE SOUTH SIDE MUSIC HALL AND GILLEY'S SALOON

Today Gilley's Dallas announces the launch of two new venues within the Gilley's Dallas complex at 1135 S. Lamar St in South Dallas. In an almost constant state of change since it was opened in 2003 as  a country music venue, Gilley's added The Palladium Ballroom in 2004. In this expansion, the complex was remodeled and reconstructed to include 3 music venues, 3 special event spaces and a restaurant.

This Summer Gilley's began a new period of transition, arguably bigger than any before. First the restaurant was expanded, adding a 4th music venue called The Gilley's Saloon. This room will produce concerts for locals and smaller touring acts every Thursday through Saturday starting in October; and functions seven days a week as a restaurant and bar. The restaurant will feature unique elements like breakfast all day, a best-in-class bloody mary bar and Sunday Bloody Brunch.

Second, and most importantly, Gilley's is announcing the launch of The South Side Music Hall, as a 1500 person live music venue booking nationally touring acts across all genres of music. The concert calendar for the South Side Music Hall is already full of amazing national acts, and the first concert under this new name is the sold out Bassnectar show on Thursday, October 2nd.

Other concerts coming soon to the South Side Music Hall include:

The Gaslight Anthem with Rival Schools, Fake Problems on October 8th
Devendra Banhart & The Grogs on October 9th
Jason Boland and the Stragglers with Chris Rivers Band on October 15th
Kyle Park with Chris Rivers Band on October 23rd
All That Remains with Asking Alexandria, Born of Osiris on October 27th
Danzig with  Possesed, Marduk, Toxic Holocaust, Withered on Halloween Night October 31st
Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti with Os Mutantes on November 5th
Suicidal Tendencies on November 6th
Dr. Dog with Here We Go Magic on November 11th
The Octopus Project (Special 360 Performance) on November 18th
Say Anything & Motion City Soundtrack with Saves The Day on November 19th
Atreyu with Blessthefall, Chiodos, Architects UK, Endless Hallway on November 24th
...and more announcing very soon!

The Gilley's Dallas complex features The Palladium Ballroom, The South Side Music Hall, The Loft, The Saloon and 3 premiere special event spaces. Booking and production for shows at Gilley's Dallas is done primarily by 2 cooperative entities:
