This weekend, the Dallas nightlife scene was shocked when DJ Sober announced that the 4th of July edition of his widely popular weekly- Big Bang- would be the party's last night at Beauty Bar. The Thursday night residency has called Knox-Henderson's Beauty Bar home for two and a half years, and as of the last six months, it has clearly outgrown the venue. Longtime fans of the weekly hip hop party came out in droves this 4th of July to witness the end of an era, as Sober started off his set for the night with Daft Punk's "One More Time". The question remained, where will Big Bang go next?

Starting this week, Big Bang's new home is the basement of The Travis Disco. The bigger room will provide a much more comfortable atmosphere for Big Bang regulars, as well as newcomers to the ever-growing weekly. Formerly Rio Room, the Travis Disco has been recently revamped by its management. While one era ends, a new one unfolds for Dallas best rap weekly. But be advised, parking will be an issue at The Basement for Big Bang fans who have been spoiled on the Beauty Bar adjacent Sprouts grocery parking lot. Take a cab, or bring valet money.
