Easter Sunday falls on 4/20 this year, but that isn't deterring Dallasites from organizing big parties to celebrate the devil's lettuce. The numbers are potentially the world's biggest inside joke, originating from a small group of friends in California who would meet up at 4:20 p.m. each day to smoke marijuana outside of their high school.

There's so much great music happening all over Dallas all day long that we hear that hopping between shows might cure the Sunday scaries. Here are some of the best lineups planned. Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

Dezi 5 at Three Links
2704 Elm St.
Last year, Dezi 5 released his first full-length album, Dirty Laundry, after years as the anointed king of Dallas entertainment. With seven full songs and two interludes, the record is about as funky as it gets. On Sunday, Dezi will perform the album start-to-finish with We Them Grays as his backing band. Bring your boogie shoes and maybe slip a joint in them too. Tickets are $10 in advance on Prekindle or $15 at the door.

Ashes 4/20 Fest
420 S. Carroll Blvd #105, Denton
On the outskirts of Denton, Ashes Smoke Shop is planning one of the biggest 4/20 lineups that North Texas has to offer. Eight bands are scheduled between 12:30 and 9:30 p.m., including the pop-punk fun of Atomic Youth at 2:30 p.m. This event is free to attend all day, with local vendors and food also set to be on site.

Dallas Hemp Company
9020 Garland Road
4/20 is like Christmas for Dallas Hemp Company. Located in Lakewood on Garland Road, the smoke shop/coffee and food respite/sleek event space is hosting its annual 4/20 party, this time a 12-hour celebration from noon to midnight featuring an array of fantastic Dallas artists and a buffet dinner. Music kicks off at 1 p.m. with Wayside Motel, and we’re especially excited about the alt-rock musings of After A Night Of Unsettling Dreams from 7:30-9 p.m. This event is strictly 21+. Tickets are on sale via Eventbrite.

Curren$y at Trees
2709 Elm St.
As Dallas Observer music contributor Sean Stroud beautifully said about Curren$y, “His whole thing is weed.” The New Orleans rapper is in the midst of his nationwide “4:20 Tour” with the 747 Band. We got lucky enough to have his stop in Dallas actually fall on April 20. General admission tickets are available on Prekindle.
Denton 420 Fest at Rubber Gloves
411 E. Sycamore St, Denton
Though free to attend, Denton 420 Fest is also being billed as a fundraiser for the Community Hunger Initiative. It’s set for 1-5 p.m. on the patio stage at Rubber Gloves, with a three-band lineup of Vail, Brotherhood and Hex Bomb-ombs, which is a name parodying a fictional band in the Scott Pilgrim universe that's fictionally parodying a fictional character in Super Mario Bros. Try wrapping your mind around that and you'll feel just as high as smoking.

Cheech and Chong’s Last Movie
Multiple locations
This one isn't a musical event, but definitely checking out if you prefer big-screen entertainment. On Sunday at 4:20 p.m., select Alamo Drafthouse locations will screen Cheech and Chong’s Last Movie, an intimate documentary that follows the two legendary comedians (and noted potheads) throughout their decades-long career. Tickets are still available at the Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson, Las Colinas, Denton and the Cedars.
