The holidays are over, and it's nearly time shut down all the Christmas caroling, save for local outfit Bethan. "O Holy Night," from their rather haunting EP of reworked Christmas hymns, found a home on WBEZ's This American Life last Friday.

The show features stories of families and loved ones who have gone above and beyond to deliver a magical holiday season to each other. If you could use one more dose of magic and generosity, no one delivers those stories quite like the This American Life crew. You can listen to the podcast here; keep an ear out for "O Holy Night" around the 38:00 mark, and again near the end of the episode.

Do yourself another favor and check out the EP is you have not. "O Holy Night" was a fitting addition for the show, but their interpretation "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence" is moving. Bethan's take on these hymns are rather beautiful and walk a very graceful line, maintaining the darker elements of the Christmas story.
