In the current issue of Lone Star Music Magazine, The Departed's primary lead singer, Cody Canada, described his band's upcoming album, Adventis, as "the fastest moving project I've been a part of in a long time." Given this album will be the first collection of original material for the band (following last year's covers album) and therefore a clearer picture of who the band really is, such a statement is certainly intriguing. Hopefully, Canada and crew will break out some of the newer, faster material during their BrewFest performance to help the lines of empty beer-glass holders move along more quickly. Dallas singer-songwriter Kirby Brown kicks things off, and there will be something like a gazillion beers to sample.
