As the devastating floods in Kerr County have subsided, the search for victims continues, with more than 130 people reported dead and more than 160 still missing. There are numerous online donation portals set up to help victims of the flooding, and for volunteering when you can.

The Dallas Music Office, KNON and Dallas Entertainment Awards have teamed up to present High Waters, Lone Stars: A Dallas Benefit for the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund. Hosted by comedian Dante Martinez, the show will feature live performances by Justin Pickard, Sam Cormier, Jake Quillin, The Blue Line, Astrogiirl, Carson Lewis, Honin, Isaac Sloane & The Sound Brigade, Blue Capricorn, Cyfa Fix, Larry Ladale, Church for the World, Joel Wells Jr., Rasta Dno, Kayla Raquel and Flozilla. All proceeds will go directly to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.

“It was something that simply needed to be done,” says Dezi 5, who operates the Dallas Entertainment Awards. “I knew I could count on these incredible Dallas-based artists to come together for a meaningful cause.”

"Dallas Music Office and Dallas Entertainment Awards did not wait a single moment before creating a benefit event to help Texas flood victims," says Jay Gavit, DJ Crash from KNON Radio. "KNON is happy to assist in this endeavor."

The event will take place at Three Links on Tuesday, July 29. The 16-act lineup pulls from all the genres that make Dallas music great — hip-hop, country, rock, or pop — and it's all hitting the stage at Three Links on Tuesday.

“I’m always so stoked to hear new music from folks in the community,” says Honin. “I love when I get to hear different types of genres all on one bill.”

Honin is behind some of the grooviest pop songs to come out of the city, a stark contrast from someone like Carson Lewis, who’s made his name on stripped-down acoustic sing-alongs.

“It means a lot to be helping raise money for the flood relief fund,” Lewis says. “I don't have too many skills other than music, so to be able to use my art to help people in need is an honor.”

He echoed Honin’s sentiments about the lineup as well.

“The lineup is phenomenal,” he says. “I know most of the acts on the bill, some of the best talent in town. It will be great to see everyone and hear some of the acts that I'm not as familiar with. Gonna be a packed house, I bet.”

Similar to Lewis, Isaac Sloane plays with a soul/country sound that’s refined by his excellent backing band, The Sound Brigade.

“We’re really honored to have been asked to participate in such a big and meaningful event,” Sloane says. “Texans are strong and resilient. It’s a tragedy that all those lives were lost, but it’s beautiful seeing everyone come together to help their neighbor in a time of need.”

Rodrigo Carabello-Marin, who founded Blue Capricorn in 2018, says he wanted to participate in whatever way he could during this time of healing.

“It’s an incredible honor to be part of such an important cause that Kerr County needs right now,” he says. “It’s a showcase that is demonstrating humanity, empathy and charity. Being able to join these talented artists with the same goal in mind is truly powerful.”

Let’s show what Texans are made of—resilient, generous and united.
