Dallas is about to get a sip from Dave Blunts‘ cup when he takes over the House of Blues on April 30 for his first-ever performance in North Texas.
The Dallas venue announced the event last week, marking a key moment in Blunts’ Standing for What I Believe In tour. Blunts’ arrival in Dallas is a milestone for the rapper and for the city, as it’s the first chance local fans will have to experience Blunts’ live show.
The hip-hop artist will bring his signature vocals and catchy tracks to a wider audience on this tour. Known for his unapologetic approach to songwriting, Blunts weaves his personal struggles and triumphs into every lyric, offering a glimpse into the journey that fuels his music.
He’s also known on social media for detailing his health and weight battles. The rapper made headlines in December after performing while sitting down at Chicago’s United Center during a Juice WRLD tribute show.
Davion Blessing, better known as Dave Blunts, first rose to prominence in 2024 after his breakout single “The Cup” went viral on TikTok. The high-energy track’s emotionally charged lyrics struck a chord with listeners, helping him build a strong following.
In 2023, he faced significant health challenges, including a hospital stay caused by complications from an untreated condition, which he later revealed had been affecting him for years. Blunts also revealed in a September 2024 interview that he had reached a weight of 600 pounds and suffered heart failure that year.
Last summer, the toll of constant touring caught up with him again when he was seen performing with an oxygen tank, pushing through shows despite his health.
Yet Blunts has continued to tour through the physical setbacks, showing a level of determination that resonates deeply with his fans.
With future dates uncertain, the tour kicks off April 12 in Phoenix before making its way across the country. It will stop in Dallas on April 30 and hit cities such as Houston, Cleveland and Detroit, making it one of the most highly anticipated hip-hop events of the spring.
