Acid Koolaid Festival Expands for Second Year

Acid Koolaid Fest
Things are about to get extremely trippy in Denton. The second annual Acid Koolaid Fest begins Thursday. Organizers of this psychedelic rock extravaganza decided to expand the production this year to intensify the experience.

Last year’s inaugural event took place over two days with two stages at Backyard On Bell. This year, the event will last four days and include more than 40 bands on five stages. In addition to Backyard On Bell, Andy’s Bar and Dan's SilverLeaf will host the festival.

Each stage has a nickname, such as “Cosmic Tavern,” “Rainbow Wave” and “Garage Mirage.” Weird Destiny Productions and Rotsnaze Collective will provide artistic light installations in line with the theme of the festival.

The party gets started at 7 p.m. Thursday at Backyard On Bell with the Ego Death showcase. Day passes are available at the door for $10, and four-day are $30. Full lineup and set times:
