It's coming up on two weeks now since we dropped the above bomb on you
and announced that we'd somehow cobbled together the above four bold-faced names -- Toadies, Old 97's, Centro-matic and Sarah Jaffe -- to headline our 2011 Dallas Observer
Music Awards showcase on Saturday, October 15, in Deep Ellum, starting at 6 p.m.
And, lookie here, tickets to the showcase are now on sale as of this morning, coming in at a low $15 for general admission and, new this year, $40 for VIP passes, which get you into a private viewing area with seating, complimentary food, water, and two adult beverages, not to mention angry glares from the people kept outside the ropes, which are also free.
But, see, even the $15 gets you a lot -- the above four names, for starters, performing on an outdoor stage in the big, open lot across the street from the Prophet Bar and next to the old Knights of Pythias Temple. Plus, oh, access to another seven venues once the main stage shuts down after 10 o'clock -- including The Prophet Bar, The Door, La Grange, Trees, Dada, The Bone and Reno's Chop Shop Saloon, all of which will showcase other DOMA-nominated bands right up until their 2 a.m. closing time.
Voting will last right up until that point. But, in the meantime, you can vote here.
So: Who exactly will be joining the above four headliners on the bill? Glad you asked!
