$10,000

Haven’t heard much from anyone who was at last Wednesday’s My Brightest Diamond show at the Granada–and I couldn’t make it myself, unfortunately. But, if that live set from one-time Dallas native Shara Worden (read Darryl Smyers’ story on her here) sounded anything like her phenomenal Daytrotter Sessions (which can be downloaded here), then I’m guessing it was a pretty amazing show.

For those not in the know, the Daytrotter deal is pretty cool: Five days a week, a small studio in Illinois invites touring bands to stop in for a four-song live set, which, in turn, gets posted online for free download.

The results and the quality of acts brought in vary from day to day, but no doubt, this one, Worden’s second (get the first one, from last year, here), is a sure keeper. Again, check it out. —Pete Freedman
