Forth Worth’s Fate Lions just dropped some hot wax on Plano’s 7-inch-centric Tree Fall Sounds to follow up their 2009 full-length Good Enough For You, and the three songs pick up where they left off. Lead Lion Jason Manriquez has a way with a melody, and “Natural Champion” showcases that, as well as the band’s way with a pop song. However, that sound doesn’t fall easily into any subgenres, which is the mark of a good band. Singer/songwriters Glen Farris and Nicholas Altobelli share the stage beforehand, and Brandon Bolin celebrates the release of his debut album, Shiver.
