Seems my favorite garage/punk/alt-country band from Cowtown, The Cut*Off, is keeping busy with a plethora (love using that word) of activities.

First off, the band hits Lakewood Bar and Grill this weekend on a bill with The Slack and Salim Nourallah. Then the Cut*Off will be on Channel 4's Good Day morning show on March 5, followed by a stop at the House of Blues March 7 as part of the Texas Showcase Showdown.

The HOB gig also features What Made Milwaukee Famous, Black Joe Lewis, Dove Hunter, Doug Burr, The Orbans, Telegraph Canyon, and Matthew and The Arrogant Sea. That's a hell of a line-up right there, folks.

Packaged Up For Beginners, The Cut*Off's 2008 sophomore effort was easily one of the best local releases of last year. Word is the band is already rehearsing and recording new material for its next opus. If the band continues to improve s it has the last couple of years, the future could bring wonderful things to this unpretentious quartet.
