A few luminaries from the DIY punk, metal, hardcore and experimental music community including Akkolyte, Enemies of Inertia and Life Erased will get together with touring acts Austin hip-hop duo OT23 and Oakland's Paranoid Freakout at Sunday's Get The Fuck Outside Festival at the Veterans Park Bandshell (3600 Arkansas Lane) in Arlington.

It's a diverse lineup, ranging from hip-hop to hardcore to Eccotone's hard-edged shoegaze to County Lines' punk-tinged folk. Best of all, it's free -- though donations will be collected for the touring bands.

"We didn't want it to be all hardcore, shreddy punk rock," says co-organizer Pablo Arauz, who put the show together with David Boon. "That would be totally ridiculous, but too much to handle for some people. Some people won't go out if it's all hardcore, so we have some other kinds of music too."

The name is intended to be both confrontational and scene-affirming, he says. After all, the best way to support music is to get the fuck out to a show.

A few bands had to drop off the lineup after the show, originally scheduled for Saturday, was moved to Sunday, Arauz says. But he still has high hopes that people will brave the heat. If Facebook RSVPs are any indication, they will, as more than 100 have already committed to attend.
