David Ponder, guitarist for the local alt-country combo Somebody's Darling, just sent word that his band and The Boxmasters (Billy Bob Thornton's band, which just played The Loft earlier this week) will both play the Screen Actor Guild's Holiday Party tonight at Gilley's.

Although Gilley's website doesn't mention the gig, SAG local rep Trish Avery just gave me the complete lowdown: Tickets are available though the Texas Motion Picture Alliance website for $10, or you can get one at the venue for $15. All proceeds go to the TMPA, and the party runs from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Ponder also informed me that Somebody's Darling's debut full length will get a national release (iTunes, eMusic, etc.) on December 29th. Good to know that folks all over the country will have a chance to check out one of our area's best bands.

Back to tonight, though: Hopefully the guys (and gal) in Somebody's Darling won't piss off Billy Bob. We all know how cranky he can be...
