New Braunfels' Drew Kennedy travels around Texas quite often, sharing stories and songs in the grand folk singer tradition. But there's more in Kennedy's bag than just some vagabond ideal.
Kennedy comes across as a cleaner and less political version of Steve Earle; he's released three solid efforts of not-quite-alt country that feature songwriting that balances serious romanticism with a healthy dose of self-depreciating humor. His most recent release was 2009's An Audio Guide to Cross Country Travel.
And, in anticipation of his show tonight at Adair's Saloon, Kennedy was nice enough to offer one of the albums best cuts, "Rolling Around in the Bed," as a free MP3 for the readers of DC9. Check it out after the jump.
