Happy New Year's, everyone.

Hope you had a safe and happy night list night. And here's hoping to a healthy and happy 2010.

And if you're feeling up to it, champ, there's still plenty to do this weekend. Remember, it's only Friday.

As for shows this weekend, here are a few we've already hyped: Sunday night marks the live performance debut of Nick Jonas & The Administration. You can catch a reprisal of that affair on Sunday night, too. Or, that same night, you can catch the Avett Brothers at the Granada Theater.

Hopefully you've got your tickets already, though; both the Saturday night Jonas show and the Sunday night Avett show are sold out.

As for other shows going on this weekend, be sure to check out our music listings. We'll see you again on Monday...

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
