Two quick follow-ups to yesterdays items on Jessica Simpson, then back to talking about things that actually matter
- First, according to MSNBC, a source close to Jessica said Simpson saw Eminem’s “We Made You” video yesterday and was none too pleased. Shocking, I know. “Of course Jess finds it annoying,” the source said, “but it’s not like she’s the only one who was singled out.” Fair enough.
- Now, as far as Jess getting dropped from her label, which was reported all across the Web yesterday, it turns out that’s not exactly true, maybe? According to a spokesperson for Epic Records, Simpson wasn’t dropped from Sony Nashville; rather, she was never signed to Sony in the first place. “Jessica is and has always been an Epic
artist. She was on loan to Sony Nashville for her country album. She
continues to be on Epic’s label,” the spokesperson said. Nice roundabout defense there! But, fact remains, Sony Nashville clearly didn’t want Jessica on its roster for another country record, or else it would, um, keep her on loan? Oh well. Raise your hands if you care. No one? Good. Moving on…
