Annie Clark (St. Vincent) and David Bryne (Talking Heads) will premiere their collaborative effort, Love This Giant, on September 11, via 4AD. The album comes after the duo began recording and writing together in 2010, and the live show will apparently feature eight brass players, a keyboardist and a drummer, in addition to Clark and Byrne on guitar.
Between Byrne’s musical lineage and Clark’s chops, this collaboration could be really good. That’s also what I said about Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, his collab with Brian Eno, even though that album ended up being sort of a let down. Anyway, in this interview, Clark talks about how she and Byrne met and how “What would David Bryne do?” became the mantra.
Tickets go on sale Friday, June 22, via Ticketmaster.
