The first time the Kings of Leon came to town, they played an intimate show at the Gypsy Tea Room.

And what a different time that was: Critics referred to them as The Strokes of the South, and before long, Kings Of Leon found themselves as the opening act for Julian Casablancas & Co. Of course, those were the days when Kings Of Leon still had some rock 'n' roll credibility. Now they've traded it in for U2's sound and sold-out arenas. And, on Friday, July 29, the band will be joined by opening act Band Of Horses at Gexa Energy Pavilion. Expect this show to be pretty darn big.

Tickets can be purchased via Live Nation on Saturday, May 14, starting at 10 a.m. They'll run you somewhere between $30.50 and $60.50.

In other show announcements news, on Wednesday, July 13, the historic Texas Theatre, which re-opened late last year, will host its first concert of note since its return. Nashville's Civil Wars will temporarily convert the movie theater to a music venue with their accessible alt-country pop, along with opener Rayland Baxter.
