Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.
Looks like George Michael, Dallas’ favorite adopted pop star, is hitting the road for the first time in almost 20 years. According to this Associated Press report, George Michael will be touring North America starting in June and wrapping it up in August. His 25 LIVE tour will support the singer's new album, Twenty-Five and visit 25 cities. And it hits here at the American Airlines Center July 13.
Really, I’m just hoping he keeps his act together. I caught him touring for his Faith album wayyyy back when it stopped at Texas Stadium. He was in good form then but I missed his Cover 2 Cover tour at Reunion in the early '90s.
And then, it was pretty much all downhill from there.
Confession time: He’s one of my all-time favorites and Listen Without Prejudice Vol. One is, without a doubt, one of my “desert island” CDs. (Editor's Note: Wow.)
Tickets will go on sale Saturday, April 5, at 10 a.m. at livenation.com, ticketmaster.com and over the phone at (214) 373-8000 and (972) 647-5700. But brace yourself: Ticket prices for the show are 145, $85, $65 and $45. -- Rich Lopez
