"Van Halen announces 2012 North American tour" is one of those email subject lines I was almost afraid to open. Because, really, the world doesn't need any more Hagar. Yes, I know it's fashionable to hate on the "other" Van Halen singer, but let's be honest: "Poundcake" was his best song. David Lee Roth was always the guy you really wanted to high-kick it with.

And lo! The group, with David Lee Roth, lands at the American Airlines Center on June 20. In addition, they're releasing a new album next month, A Different Kind of Truth, which is Roth's first with the group since 1984's 1984. If their recent club gig was any indication, this reunion might actually be worth it.

Tickets go on sale January 14 via Ticketmaster and LiveNation.
