Peter Murphy, Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill and Other Noteworthy Show Announcements

Seems that the big acts in this week's show announcements were even bigger some 20 years ago. Much bigger.

You might think we're talking about Morrissey, or Wilco (who still seem to be on the fringe of their prime) or Third Eye Blind (did they ever even have a prime?), but, no, we mean Bauhaus singer and Goth Godfather Peter Murphy, who is still going strong himself. Just five months ago he put on an astonishing show at The Granada Theater. This time, he'll bring his show to The Prophet Bar on Sunday, November 6, with the help of She Wants Revenge and Hussle Club. Tickets for the show can be purchased for $25 at The Prophet Bar's ticket website.

Speaking of great solo artists of the 1980s and 1990s, the entire 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. hour block on KJMZ-100.3 FM Jamz in 1991 will be at Verizon Theatre on Saturday, November 12: Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant, Keith Sweat, and Ginuwine will surely break Grand Prairie sound ordinances with the collective lady screams. Tickets range from $10 to $85 over at Ticketmaster, but if you don't want to pay that much to revisit the '90s, hey, that's your prerogative.
