We noted yesterday that Rhett Miller's in town to record a new solo album. Last night he played what was supposed to be a double-bill with Sarah Jaffe, to try out some of his new material in an acoustic show at Sons of Hermann Hall.
Jaffe didn't make it (we had a little weather, as you might have heard) -- so Miller played solo, trying out some cuts off his new album, and closing with older solo work and a few from the Old 97's' softer side.
Earlier in the evening, he hosted a kids' songwriting workshop too, a fundraiser for the Way Into Music fund.
DC-9 was there for both, and we've got photos up in our slideshow here.
