I don't know if the artist had this in mind, but the pajama-clad legs and generally pleasant dream scene could be a play on the title of Jack With One Eye's latest CD, The Bad Sleep Well. That CD, in case you missed the review, got some high praise in the print version of DC9 from Merritt Martin.
I sent a message to Jack With One Eye to ask the designer's name and will update this post as soon as I find out.

Update: The designer is Mila Hamilton from Jack With One Eye, who writes: "I re-purposed some art from an old Decca album from the late 50's for this flier. =) I used something similar for a show we did with Blackheart [Society] last year..."
