With South by Southwest right around the corner, area bands heading to Austin for the festival are scrambling to finalize their preparations. And at least one local act, Denton's Record Hop, still has a fairly major unknown surrounding its impending trip southward: Will the band's upcoming self-titled release be ready to be sold and passed around by the time its showcase on Saturday, March 15, rolls around?
"God, I hope so!" guitarist Scott Porter writes in a recent email. Every element of the release--the disc, the sleeves, the packaging, etc.--is still in transit at this point in time.
Looks like the band--and the rest of us, too--will have to just wait and see. -- Pete Freedman
