If you haven’t been following the path of Dallas’ Ronnie Fauss over the past couple of years, you have quite the treat ahead of you. Beginning with 2009’s New Songs for the Old Frontier and most recently in 2011’s tribute collection Any Lovin’ Way But Wrong, Fauss’ four EPs serve as the definition of quality over quantity. Digesting Fauss’ back catalog should keep you busy until his upcoming full-length debut is released by New West Records, hopefully sometime later this year. Thankfully, he’ll be hitting the beer-tastic taps at the Common Table, so not only do you have a chance to get a crash course in the folk singer, but you can also work up a little buzz to help you through some of his beautifully sad songs.
