Support the independent voice of Dallas and help keep the future of Dallas Observer free.

The Flaming Lips have been performing in Dallas for over two decades. The last time they came through town, they stopped short just north of Big D, for a headlining performance at the 2010 NX35 Conferette, during which the power blew several times. Hopefully, they won't have as much trouble during their newly-announced, Jack Daniels and 1310 The Ticket-sponsored show at Palladium Ballroom on Thursday, February 3.

And just to put the psychedelic night over the edge, they've invited our own Neon Indian to open the show. Tickets can be purchased at the Palladium's ticket website for a whopping $55.

Speaking of 1310 The Ticket, one of the best shows on The Ticket, The Orphanage, which airs on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, is hosting their fifth annual benefit concert at Double Wide on Saturday, December 18. Performing at this year's show will be RTB2, Air Review, Old Snack, and our own Playlister P. Tickets can be purchased in advance at The Double Wide's Prekindle site for $5, and all proceeds go toward Gladney Center for Adoption.

More show announcements after the jump.
