Seems as good a time as any to pass along word that the folks at Spune Productions have a couple big shows looming on the horizon, both of which we here at DC9 are proud to say we're co-sponsoring.

The first up comes on Saturday, January 30, at Hailey's Club in Denton. Called the Spune 2K10 Winter Dance Party, this show features a lineup of dance-inducing area favorites Neon indian, Ishi, Phantastes, Vulgar Fashion, Florene, Peopleodian, Monastery and Austin's Survive in an all-night affair that kicks off shortly after 6 p.m.

The other's a little farther out--still at Hailey's, though. Taking advantage of the pre-SXSW boom of acts coming through the region, this Wednesday, March 17 show features the touring (and sure-to-be-SXSW-buzzing) likes of Bowerbirds, Cymbals Eat Guitars, The Cave Singers and seven others (see the whole lineup--and get your tickets for the affair--right here).

See you at both?

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
