It's been eleven years since Stephen Malkmus released his self-titled debut with The Jicks, and on that first tour, during a stop at the old Gypsy Tea Room (on the big side), he made good use of the musical elbow room his new band allowed him, ripping solo after solo. He also proved he's strong enough to carry a band, which he has done for some five albums, the most recent of which was last year's Mirror Traffic.
He's still touring that record, and the Granada Theater will bring him to town Tuesday, February 21. He might even cover "Champagne Supernova" like he did back in 2001. Tickets are on sale at the Granada's ticket website for $22.
And, for a band that's just starting to earn praise, Delta Spirit will also be making a stop at the Granada Theater on Saturday, April 14, with opening act Waters. Tickets for the show are also available at the Granada's ticket website, for $19 to $30.
