Unless you've got a teenage daughter -- or maybe if you are someone's teenage daughter -- you probably haven't paid much attention to Taylor Swift, the headlining performer in this weekend's biggest show. The young country superstar will be at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington on Saturday night along with Christian rock opening act Needtobreathe.
But if the above teenage girl criteria does not apply to you, there are plenty of other shows this weekend, starting with the ones we've mentioned all week.
Tonight, at Dada, Toro Y Moi returns to Deep Ellum with Bass Drum of Death and Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and, in Denton, Mind Spiders, Birthday Suits and Free To Kill Again will perform at Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studios. Also in Denton tonight: Ruby Jane will be the one with the fiddle on stage at Dan's Silverleaf.
On Saturday, Lucinda Williams will be over at Billy Bob's Texas in Fort Worth, and Air Review will be stirring up plenty of controversy opening up for Portugal. The Man at Granada Theater. Meanwhile, over at House of Blues, Fake Problems, Never Shout Never, A Rocket to the Moon, and Carter Hulsey will perform.

Olospo
Friday, October 7, at La Grange
Toward the end of Olospo's initial tenure, which ultimately ended sometime in 2009, the band wanted to shed their jam band comparison. They played shorter sets and incorporated Flaming Lips covers into their performances. Now that they're back from hiatus, it's hard to say if they are OK with the jam band label or not. Still, they will have to get a little jammy to fill the three-hour marathon set they have planned tonight at La Grange.
The Wagoneers, Josh Weathers & The New Endeavors
Friday, October 7, at The Kessler Theater
The Wagoneers are one of the original Texas country acts. They broke up in 1990, but have reunited this year, and will perform at The Kessler tonight for the second time in about three months. Rumor has it that the last show sold out.
Dionne Warwick, Earl Klugh
Friday, October 7, at Verizon Theatre
I guess Dionne was so successful on The Apprentice, she decided to try her hand at music. Good luck!

The King of Blues will return to Dallas tomorrow night for a performance of random note plucking and bending, just like they did it in the old days. Seriously, though, he's getting pretty old.

This show is a pretty good deal considering that you'll only have to pay $5 to see two really solid bands. Nourallah has a handful of great new songs that he may or may not roll out for this show, and I Love Math is just a great pop band.
The Orbans, Analog Rebellion, Bethan

There was a lot of controversy surrounding this show when Air Review dropped off the bill to join Portugal. The Man at Granada Theater. Replacing them with the up-and-coming Bethan was a smart move on the Kessler's part. Singer Jessi James will add a nice touch to what was already a solid bill.
Peter Wolf Crier
Saturday, October 8, at Dan's Silverleaf
This Spune-promoted show from Minneapolis folk duo Peter Wolf Crier should be a solid choice for indie rock fans in Denton. Luckily, it's not up against Denton's Friday night choices, making it the thing to do up north on Saturday night. Unless, that is, you're at Cowboys Stadium.
