So, while we haven’t named the winner in the Lovie vs. The Valentines Rock ‘n’ Rumble (expect results very soon – or, you know, look at the comments), we do have news about The Valentines. Specifically, the band changed its name to The Fieros. Does the name change make the band more ‘fierce’? Not sure, but signing on attorney Jeff Worob (Maroon 5, Jesse Malin) just might. The band told DC-9 Worob suggested the name change. Apparently, there are a ton of bands called The Valentines, and, well, the fight isn’t worth it.

Those wanting to check out the indie act under the new moniker can see The Fieros 9 p.m. Saturday, January 12, at the Double Wide. — Chelsea Ide
