This Damn Town

Though new on the scene, This Damn Town features some old familiar faces: Alex Cuervo and Kari Luna are both veterans of the Gospel Swingers, and Jeremy Diaz played with the Fort Worth-based Dead Sexy. This new grouping finds Cuervo revisiting the broken-down blues turf with his slide guitar and wailing vocals rumbling over punk rock rhythms. The down-and-dirty sound gets a fresh twist from Luna's vintage keys. Rougher than the Gospel Swingers yet not as straight-ahead rockin' as Dead Sexy, This Damn Town is off to a damn good start. Denton's the Faceless Werewolves and the Good Looks open.
