Lingering hangovers usually make for little motivation to leave the house on a Monday night, but local one-man arena-accordion-rock phenomenon turned New York sensation Corn Mo returns to Dallas to kick your Monday night’s ass. Since leaving for the big city in 2001, Corn Mo has been weaving his mystical web of rockitude like David Copperfield at a Styx concert (if Dave played songs about the Golden Triangle Mall and Gary Busey, anyway). Having toured with the likes of They Might Be Giants, Ben Folds and the Polyphonic Spree, he’s currently opening for the intriguing Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players. Inspired by slides found at thrift stores, the mother, father and daughter Trachtenburg clan takes a musical journey through the fictional lives of people who died before you were a gleam in the milkman’s eye. Corn Mo’s accordion-armed Vince-Neil-meets-Andrew-Lloyd-Webber is the perfect complement (I should know, having raised Cain with him in bands such as the Dooms UK). Shine on.
