Update, Editor: The full lineup is now in! In addition to Danny Brown, GvsB Fest III will feature Blue Hawaii, HAERTS, Empress Of and Booty Fade. The return of DJ Sober (he's half of Booty Fade) greatly increases the likelihood of another mix in our near futures.

Gorilla vs. Bear Fest in just three short years has become one of the most anticipated days of music for North Texas music fans. With memorable sets from emerging acts like White Denim and Twin Sister, North Texas debuts from Grimes and Shabazz Palaces and the added touch of North Texas artists like ADd+ it's not hard to understand the appeal to this fest.

Tastemaker and music writer Chris Cantalini's special ear for dreamy contemporary pop and emerging indie artists has been established on his site Gorilla vs. Bear, so the ongoing collaboration with the Granada makes sense to bring to life some of the sounds readers follow year round. And praise the blog-gods, a lady cannot live on GvB mixes alone.
Ryan Henry, talent buyer at the Granada, thinks back to those first fests. "It's so hard to pick one standout moment because so many great artists have played it but I would have to say that watching White Denim close out the night the very first year absolutely brought down the house. It was the perfect moment of feeling victorious and overwhelmed and realizing, 'Well, we pulled it off!'"
Pulled it off indeed, moments like that keep fans rushing to sell out early bird tickets and clamor for lineup leaks. We still have to wait a minute for the full lineup but just announced headliner Danny Brown is an exciting artist to carry GvB's torch of taste and unpredictability.
Brown has had quite the year; you'll want to be around to see if the controversy is still following him around and what exactly he has to say about it.
Keep an eye out for more lineup announcements for GvBIII on DC9 at Night and an ear - fingers crossed one of DJ Sober's mixes featuring the artists will make the rounds in our near future too. That's a tradition now, right? Let's make it a tradition okay, GvB?
