The new Dimebag Darrell Abbott book/DVD He Came To Rock earns its release today with the claim that it's the first book about the legendary Pantera guitarist's life (a fact that certainly can't sit too well with a certain other Dimebag biographer...), and, unlike the other upcoming book about the man, it's got the family's support behind it.

And here's the proof on that latter fact: Vinnie Paul Abbott, Dime's brother, will be out at the Best Buy on LBJ Freeway on Thursday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m. to sign copies of the book for fans.

DALLAS, Texas—November 18, 2008—Vinnie Paul Abbott, co-founder of Pantera, will be signing a commemorative book detailing the life of his late, famous brother and band mate, Dimebag Darrell Abbott. The book signing will take place on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at Best Buy’s Midway/Lyndon B. Johnson Shopping Center location on 4255 LBJ Freeway.

“Dimebag Darrell: He Came To ROCK!” celebrates the life of Dimebag Darrell Abbott, and reflects on his days as a child and teenager in his native Arlington, to his climb to fame as Pantera’s hard-rocking, phenomenal lead guitarist. The book includes a bonus DVD with never before seen footage, and features a compilation of personal photos taken by the people who knew him best. Pictures of Dimebag on stage tell the story of a rock legend, and personal photos with his family reveal the life of a family man who never lost his claim to Dallas.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release; some have already pre-ordered the book on bigvinrecords.com. The book hits stores on Nov. 18, 2008.
