Jesse already mentioned it in his review of Erykah Badu's Saturday night performance at the Palladium, but what the heck--seeing is believing, you know. So, on that note, check out the above video for Badu's new Web-only track off of New Amerykah Pt. 2: Return of the Ankh. The clip debuted on Badu's Web site on Friday afternoon at 3:33 p.m.

It's trippy as hell--Badu herself refers to the clip as an Erykahlidoscope, if that explains the aim at all. But also kind of adorable: Badu clearly had a blast filming this one, as her smiles throughout show.

Also, for kicks, in case you missed it, check out Badu's "halftime" performance of Carole King's "You've Got A Friend" from Saturday night's NBA All-Star festivities. It starts off so-so, but definitely improves as it goes on.

Keep the Dallas Observer Free... Since we started the Dallas Observer, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Dallas, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Dallas with no paywalls.
